McVey is the current MP for Tatton, one of the only three Conservative MPs in the north-west of England. She has previously held various Cabinet roles, including Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and “Minister for Common Sense”.

She unsuccessfully ran for Leader of the Conservatives in 2019. Prior to politics she hosted shows on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
