Alumni
The Durham Union Society was formed in 1848 to foster debate and friendships between members. By joining the Union you become a part of our rich history, whether you were elected to a committee, debated competitively for Durham or attended our socials.
The purpose of the 1842 Club (the Alumni Association) is to expand this over 180 year-old mission, encouraging Union members who have left Durham to stay involved.

Alumni Mentorship

In Michaelmas 2024 the Union announced its Alumni Mentorship Program. A first-of-its-kind initiative that connects members with our distinguished alumni in the top echelons of their career fields.
Students are paired with an alumnus in their interested career field and can build a relationship, gain advice and develop an understanding of their industry.
Contact the Alumni Officer at alumni@dus.org.uk for more information.
Alumni Advisory Board

To help secure the future of our alumni network, the Alumni Advisory Board was introduced. The Committee will deliver a Five-Year-Plan to promote networking and direct donations from our alumni.
