On Monday 12th of October, our experienced trainers will launch Student Debating for the 2015/16 academic year. Join us at 6.30pm in the Debating Chamber on Palace Green, whether you have never debated or competed at school.
Monday Night Debate
The first debate of term will in fact be on Monday 12th October at 8.30pm in the Debating Chamber. Doors open at 7.45pm. This debate is open to non-members so please arrive early to ensure a seat. We will entertain the motion:
This House believes the right to free speech means nothing without the right to offend.
Join us in the Reading Room at 24s at 8.30pm on Tuesday 13th October for an evening of cocktails and pizza, with a chance to meet people from other colleges and talk to officers of the Society. The event is free but open to new members only.
Address - Chris Saul
A Senior Partner at Slaughter and May, Chris Saul will be addressing the Society at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th October in a talk entitled 'worldwide business trends from the perspective of international law'. As usual, this is held in the Debating Chamber.
